New to the Craft?

If you are new or a beginner witch, this is a time for contemplation and meditation.  Now is a good time to focus on what you need help with, but not to cast or make any wishes.

For the beginner witch, this is a good time for work on self.

A Bit Seasoned?

Now if you are a seasoned witch who has a knowledge and feeling for energy, now is the perfect time to cast some spells ask for wishes or work some rituals that will pack a punch!

Remember to properly ground, as always, before working any magick.

What is a Solar Eclipse?

An eclipse of the Sun means that the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, causing the Sun to black out for a few moments.

When is New Moon magick best?

New moon magick can be done the day of and up to 3 and ½ days after the new moon. But day of has the best strongest full effect.

Any spells or rituals practiced at this time are very intense and not to be taken for granted.

Being a solar eclipse, it’s like a year's worth of energy and intent in the time it takes for the eclipse to begin and end!

solar vs lunar

The difference in the energy of a solar eclipse and the lunar eclipse are just that...the sun and the moon.

The solar energy does not pertain to the triple moon goddess. It belongs to our life-giving, heat-making, plant-growing sun.  The energy equivalent of an entire year happens in a few moments.  This is why it is so powerful and not something to play with.  New moons are normal every month thing for magick practitioners but eclipses are very special.
